Beehives, pharaohs, and eclipse songs, oh my! The second annual OSSU Art in Bloom on May 14 was a fantastic showcase of how students across OSSU are learning about themselves and the world through artistic expression. The gallery featuring visual art by students in grades 4-12 was alive with color, form, texture, and whimsy. Students in grades 4-6 combined their voices in a powerful chorus, delighting us with old spirituals like “Yonder Come Day”, and classics we know and love like “Here Comes the Sun” and “Walking on the Moon”. And the Hazen Union Drama Club, along with local elementary student actors, presented excerpts from their spring performance of The Wizard of Oz. A huge thank you to the Highland Center for the Arts for providing an exceptional space and a delicious lunch. And to all of our music, theater, and visual arts instructors, thank you for sharing your talents and love for the arts with our students!
