On Thursday, April 20th, HES students participated in an Ice Cream Social with special guest musician, Jon Gailmor. In the morning, PreK, K, and 4th grade students engaged in hour-long songwriting workshops with Mr. Gailmor to create their own songs. Later in the afternoon, they performed their songs, along with Mr. Gailmor, as part of a school-wide concert. The purpose of the event was to celebrate students' at-home reading and all of the Read to Me! contracts that came back signed – thank you to 80% of our students and families! We thought you might enjoy listening to the creative work of our students as they present: “The Best Pets”, “The Kindergarten Song”, and “My Grown-ups”, all on the OSSU YouTube channel.
