As part of Hardwick Elementary’s CLiF "Year of the Book" grant, the school welcomed award-winning guest author/illustrator, Jason Chin, on Tuesday, March 28. Among other notable accomplishments, Mr. Chin illustrated Watercress by Andrea Wang, which is a Caldecott Medal Winner, Newbery Honor Book, and APALA Award Winner. This "HES Library Event" celebrated the partnership between the school library and the public library, as well as $2,000 worth of new books (provided by CLiF) in our community. Mr. Chin read from his books, Watercress, The Universe in You, and Grand Canyon, answered questions from students, and did a drawing demonstration. It was a great day enjoyed by students and teachers/staff alike!
