The geographic location of the Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union (OSSU) is often referred to the Gateway to the Northeast Kingdom. The lifestyles of many local residents are reminiscent of old New England ways from shopping at the local general stores to owning businesses such as farming or maple sugaring. We are located about 20 miles from St. Johnsbury, 30 miles from Montpelier (Vermont’s capital) and 60 miles from Burlington (Vermont’s largest city).
OSSU consists of six towns in four Counties: Craftsbury and Greensboro in Orleans County, Hardwick and Stannard in Caledonia County, Wolcott in Lamoille County and Woodbury in Washington County. The total population of these towns is about 6,950 with approximatly 1,200 students being served PreK-12. |
