Our goal is to foster competence in the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of preschool children at risk of later school difficulty. This can be accomplished through an educational approach individualized to the needs of each young child in the child’s home, community and/or early childhood center. The Early Education Program in the Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union provides a comprehensive early intervention program for eligible children ages birth through five including those who are disabled, disadvantaged, or otherwise at risk for school failure. A child may access one or more of the following programs: Early Education Pre-School Program Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union has licensed pre-school programs within the district. During the spring of each year, pre-school screenings will occur in the district, at which time, parents may register a child between the ages of 3-5 for pre-school. The program meets several times a week and children are scheduled for specific dates in collaboration with parents.
