Essential Early Education
Carol Ray, Heather Freeman (802) 888-1771

Our goal is to foster competence in the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of preschool children at risk of later school difficulty. This can be accomplished through an educational approach individualized to the needs of each young child in the child’s home, community and/or early childhood center.
The Early Education Program in the Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union provides a comprehensive early intervention program for eligible children ages birth through five including those who are disabled, disadvantaged, or otherwise at risk for school failure.

A child may access one or more of the following programs:
Essential Early Education (EEE) is special early education for eligible children three through age five.

Early Compensatory Education (ECE) is for children ages three through five who are delayed in language and communication skills. This is considered a preventative program for children.

Family, Infant and Toddler Program is for children birth to three with specific concerns regarding health, language, social, cognitive or emotional needs.

Early Education Pre-School Program
Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union has two licensed pre-school programs within the district. During the spring of each year, pre-school registrations will occur in the district, at which time, parents may register a child who will be 4 by September, for pre-school. The program meets several times a week and children are scheduled for specific dates in collaboration with parents.
